June 2007. OZARK CLUB, Great Falls, MT.

I had heard a little about a black operated Jazz club operated up until the 1960’s in Great Falls, MT , an air force base town. But I had no idea until seeing the “A night at the Ozark” exhibit at the High Planes heritage center. My Dad told me he visited the club twice in the early 60s, it was professionally operated with no tolerance for rough-housing. What a reminder of what the time before political correctness and truth in advertising became an obsession. The operation was even a sponsor of the local NCAA chapter. So why does everyone have to take everything so serious now days? What ever happened to fun? In the internet age, if anyone gets caught having fun, its all over the media or in the gossip columns. Kind of makes you wonder.

Check out this link (it really is worth a step back in time).
