Outside of Stanley, Idaho on 4th of July Creek Road is the trailhead to Champion Lakes. I hiked in with a group of 7 for an overnight back pack trip. I was unaware ahead of time that the area had burned two years prior---so the hike in was predominantly through burn area. The lakes were beautiful. Strong winds came through on Saturday afternoon which created some down time (too loud for any talking). Great trip, and can’t beat the stop at Bridge Street Burger and Brew in Stanley.
